Jeff
is a native of Sturtevant, Wisconsin. He started his passion
in music playing the drums at the age of eleven and soon after
played professionally with, local and regional bands in the
Milwaukee and Chicago areas. By age 16, he already played with
various multi-platinum groups and artists in the country. He
received a local scholarship that helped him further his education
and moved to Texas to attend the University of North Texas,
College of Music. While finishing his bachelor’s degree, he
recorded and performed with regional groups/artists in various
styles and influences; from Rock, Country, Funk, R&B, Pop,
Latin, and Jazz.
After graduation in 2002, he did independent studio work in
Texas and played drums and percussion in the movie soundtracks
of “Beserker”, “Zombie Prom”, and “Getting it” in Los Angeles,
California. From childhood, Jeff considers Dave Weckl as one
of his greatest inspirations with whom he met and later studied
with. Dave’s musical approach to drumming and contemporary style
has shaped him along with master drummers such as Steve Gadd,
Carter Beauford, Frankie Dunlop, Dennis Chambers, and Paul Liem.
These influential individuals created a fluid versatility and
contemporary approach to his drumming style.
Furthering his career, Jeff moved from Texas to California
in May of 2005. He is presently working with an LA-based rock
band called SomebodySomeone which is finishing its EP, produced
by Jorge Vivo who has worked with artists like Puddle of Mudd,
Sum 41, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, among others. Aside from
being an in house drummer, he is also an independent artist
involved in various music recordings and contemporary jazz projects
around the country.
